TntMPD 2.1 r7 (release candidate)

TNT.tips from Bob!

Let me highlight what's new:

More auto-tasks when doing Gift Input

A few more conditions are checked when you do a Gift Input.  If a partner hasn't been thanked in over 11 months and they give a gift, this option will ensure that they get thanked.  If a partner gives a gift smaller than their pledged amount, a "To Do" will be scheduled to check it out.  At the beginning of each month, all partners that are more than 30 days behind on their pledge will have a "Call" scheduled to find out if everything is ok.  All this should result in more tasks being generated so that your ministry partners are not overlooked or underthanked.

Improved Context-Sensitive Help Options

The installation program is about 66% smaller.  This is becuase it doesn't include the help files.  When you install TntMPD, you are given the option to install the help files to your computer.  If you do, the installer will download and install the help file.  If you already installed the help file ... and the help file hasn't changed, you won't have to redownload it every time.  As the help is made available in more languages, the size of the installer won't increase.  You can choose to not install the help file at all, but F1 help will still work by pulling up your web browser on the latest help file published at tntware.com.  By default, the web-based help will take precedence as long as the internet is available.  However, you can change the preference to be your locally installed help file if you wish.  That option is also availble after you install, under Tools | Options:

Added option to not sync phone labels with Outlook

Custom phone labels are stored in TntMPD along with the phone number with a "~" used to seperate the phone number and the custom label.  This causes problems for some PDAs that are synced with TntMPD indirectly via Outlook.  Now you can turn off the syncing of Phone Labels with Outlook:

Translatable Installation

You can now install TntMPD in your own language.  In the translation center, "TntMPD Installation" is now available.  When the install program first pulls up, you can change the language if needed:

Improved "Edit" button

  (easier to translate!)

Other Improvements

This will help major fund developers only:  When doing Gift Input, if a large number of designations exist, or if "TntMPD Pro" is turned on, then when a new donor is encountered that matches a known designation, it will NOT be auto-matched to the "Me" contact.

When a history is logged as attempted, starting in TntMPD 2.1, it was displayed with a strike through font to show that it never really happened.  But some good feedback came in regarding this.  The main culprit is leaving messages on the phone.  These really DID happen, and it's important that you can read what you logged.  So the display of attempted history items are now displayed with a gray background instead.

Call to Action

Troy
