TntMPD 2.1 r34 (release candidate)

TNT.tips from Bob!

It's only been a week since the official release of TntMPD 2.1 r32, and there's already a new release candiate on the way!  The response to 2.1 r32 was overwhelmingly positive, but it did reveal a few more rough edges that needed polishing.  This new release (2.1 r34) is a release candidate, which means I'd like to base an official release off of it in the next week or so

In the last official release, I short-circuited the "release candidate" process, which unfortunately left little notice to translators.  So, translators, this is your official notice that I'd like to do another official release soon.  Please update your translation for any new items.

This release candidate has some important updates and fixes.  Here's a few enhancements I'd like to highlight:

MAC FEATURE - Added capability for .tntmpd files to be opened from Finder with TntMPD.app.

For organizations that send their staff a .tntmpd donations file, TntMPD on the Mac can now handle it by double-clicking on the file in Finder (and associating it with TntMPD.app).

MAC FEATURE - Installation tab in Options dialog now includes "Enable Unicode Fonts" option.

On TntMPD on the Mac, the fonts used in TntMPD 2.1 r32 by default don't handle non-Latin characters very well (such as Chinese or Thai characters).  To accomodate these languages, in the Tools menu, click Options, and under the Installation tab, there's an option to "Enable Unicode Fonts".  This option will cause TntMPD to use "Arial Unicode MS" instead of "Tahoma", so it will look a little different.

MAC FEATURE - File Open/Save dialogs now use native Mac dialogs.
MAC CHANGE - About box now shows database location with the native path.

When you File|Open or File|New, it was confusing to Mac users to have to think in terms of the "C: drive" and DOS paths.  Now you get a native looking Mac "Choose a File" dialog, and in the System Info (or About box) it shows the database location using a Mac-compatible path.

MAC FEATURE - Command-click can now simulate right-click.

For those mac users without a two-button mouse (or a newer track pad that accepts two-finger clicks), you can now use a more comfortable way to get a context menu (Command-Click).

CHANGE - Updated Simplified Chinese translation.

The Chinese translation has been significantly enhanced!

FEATURE - Enhanced use of keyboard on contact tabs.  Pressing a key will move focus to contact list.

When you click on the contact list, you can type a name to search.  If you use the left or right arrow, you can change the current tab.  After changing the current tab, you can type again to search for a name.  You have to try it!

FIXED - Mac/Wine: Issue where hovering mouse over the task/history list would change the selection.

This was a nasty bug that prevented Mac users from effectively selecting a range of tasks.

I forgot to mention, if someone with Leopard (10.5) can test this out, I'd appreciate the feedback.  I'd like to confirm nothing broke on Leopard before making this the next general release.  (I still don't have a Leopard Mac for testing!)

I just realized that now the control key and command key are flipped in TntMPD.

On the Mac, the command key is generally used for multi-select, and the control-click is for a context menu.

TntMPD on the Mac uses the control key for multi-select, and it uses command-click for a context menu.

Anyone else notice this?
