TntMPD 3.0.17 (release candidate)

TNT.tips from Bob!

TntMPD 3.0 was officially launched (as 3.0.11) in July, and over 4,000 people have upgraded to TntMPD 3.0!

Since then, over 50 bugs have been fixed, 28 minor enhancements added, and 3 significant enhancements added:

1.  Send to Newsletter Service:

2.  MailChimp Sync now always lets users confirm the emails that TntMPD wants to delete from MailChimp (because they are no longer email newsletter recipients in TntMPD).  This used to take place automatically without user confirmation.  MailChimp users told me this was the one place they really needed more visibility into the sync process.  The reason for this is that if a MailChimp subscriber is accidentally removed from a MailChimp list, you lose all their history in MailChimp (opens, clicks, etc.)

3.  Now, when you right-click on an address, you can move it to another address type.

It's really time to make a new official release.  More often than not, when someone reports an issue on the forums, the answer is to get the beta update.  So please take a few minutes to get this latest beta and test it out.  If you're a translator, check out the translation website for additional items you can translate.

Thanks,
Troy

I am on full-time MPD this fall and taking advantage of some of the new features. In that respect, I have been using the "Challenge" check box on the details. Now I am in a dilemma: There is no way to find Challenges in History. I can view Appointments and manually count them--but some of my challenges have been by phone or letter.

I don't have a clear recommendation, and I know the History View is already full. But perhaps a Dynamic filter--if any of the displayed history includes Challenges, a checkbox appears offering to display only Challenges.

Similarly, when I select "Thank" as the task type to display, only the "Thank" task type is displayed, but any other task type marked as a Thank is not displayed.

Bob, to find challenges in the history, just search on "Challenge".  Also, to search for all thanks, search for "Thank".

I am using r18, and am attempting to locate a specific Present that was marked as a Thank. The "Last Thank" date was correctly updated, but the filter will not find it. I have no task types selected, and have typed "Thank" in the filter, to no avail. (Yes, I can see it in the task list, and if I filter by "Present". But if I search for "Thank" or select the "Thank" task type, neither produces the result.)

Good catch.  I see two enhancements/fixes:

1.  "Present" in the "Type" filter should be color coded green.  2.  Search for "Thank" should include Present items.

I'll put this into 3.0.19.

I don't need #1.

Thank you very much for #2!  I've done a lot of cleanup using the Excel features before proceeding with syncing.

I really like #3, too, but only just saw it. Great feature!

Your welcome, Sus.  I'm grateful for your feedback which led to #2.  :)  I think this makes MailChimp sync much more "safe".

I am very excited about the feature where you can move an address to another type. I tried it and  it was limited to only one type. So am I corrent in saying it will only move it to an address type if that type has not been used in that contact?

That's correct, Nick.  You can't overwrite an existing address.
