TntConnect 3.1 r3 was released last night, and it seems to have resolved most of the beta issues reported last week. I'm counting about 650 total number of beta testers have run TntConnect 3.1 so far, of that 100 are Mac users. With this latest update (3.1.3), the number of errors being reported has dropped sharply. I'm ready for more beta testers.
There is still an unresolved issue with TntSync I need to figure out. It shows up with both databases ("Local" and "Remote") are upgraded to 3.1 and currencies are setup, perhaps via the Quick Setup Guide ... prior to TntSync. The problem caused is duplicate contacts after TntSync runs. There are some temporary workarounds discussed here: https://www.tntware.com/tntconnect/forums/t/12942.aspx
Someone asked about encryption and Dropbox. This user missed the encryption in TntMPD 3.0, because it protected his TNT data on Dropbox. That's understandable. A better solution is Boxcryptor (www.boxcryptor.com), which provides seamless encryption to any file you want encrypted, not just your TNT data. Here's more on that conversation: https://www.tntware.com/tntconnect/forums/p/12928/33665.aspx#33665
Note to translators: I've updated the latest translatable items on the Translation Center (http://www.tntware.com/tntmpd/translate/). Really test out TntConnect and look for English that shouldn't be there, or the wrong translated text and correct it. Now is your chance before the general release is announced.
Time-bomb in the betas extended! With TntConnect 3.1.3, the expiration has been extended to April 25th. That's about 33 days from now. FYI.
Windows 10 advice: I no longer recommend the Fixer as a solution to running TntMPD on Windows 10. The current TntConnect 3.1 r3 beta is a significantly better alternative, even with its need to be updated to a non-beta version before it expires on April 25.
I'm so happy to be at this point in the beta test. Thanks to everyone for your testing, feedback, and patience while we work to get everything running smoothly.
In Him,
Troy
